What is the best stretching yoga dvd for beginners?

I am very inflexible and have a lot of problems due to my tight muscles. I want to find a dvd that includes stretches for every part of the body that I can do every day. I want the full benefits of stretching the whole body.

  2. Dances with Buddha says:

A good quality yoga asana (poses) practice is as much about balance and strength development as it is about stretching.
(people seem to notice only the stretching aspect because of the attention grabbing extreme stretches).

If you’ve ever had a yoga class and it felt like the only thing you did were stretches, then in my opinion, it was a poor (lacking knowledge) instructor.

That said, unless there is something beyond stretching about yoga that attracts you, my view is why bother with the stuff you are not interested in that comes along with yoga?
You can get excellent stretching development by just stretching — no yoga.

One of the best books on stretching has been around some twenty years, Bob Anderson’s "Stretching":

Although I have not seen it, it is also available in DVD:

Don’t get me wrong: if you are attracted to yoga, that’s great.
It has many benefits beyond stretching.
But if it is only about stretching for you, then it’s like buying the car just for the radio.
